ITALIAN/BROOKS PRUNES

Prunes are prepicked, just barely ripe so you have some time to eat. Ripe in mid-late September; offered per pound.

Brooks Prunes - also known as Brooks Plums or European Prunes - Oval-shaped fruit with purplish-black skin and yellow flesh. Larger and sweeter than Italian.

Italian Prunes - look just like Brooks but much smaller and a little more tart. Best for drying.

Ripen both at room temperature without washing; once ripe, they store in the refrigerator about a week.
